Colorado Mesa University is dedicated to providing an exceptional, affordable education in a student-centered environment. CMU is one of the fastest growing public institutions in Colorado and has recently invested over $350 million in campus facilities and technology. Enrolling nearly 10,000 students at all degree levels, students enjoy state-of-the-art academic buildings, a new student center, labs, recreation facilities, residence halls, and a recently re-imagined library. CMU offers over 70 rigorous academic programs of study with challenging, interactive classes all taught by our faculty members. Whether you’re interested in a well-rounded liberal arts education, engineering, business, computer science, a health-science field, or something in between, we have the diverse curriculum to meet your needs.
With students from 30 countries and a student body and campus that welcomes diversity, international students at CMU feel well supported from the moment they apply through graduation and beyond, both in and out of the classroom. The International Programs and Services Office assists with the admission and visa process, offers new students an orientation and welcome activities, and provides international student support services while enrolled at CMU.
Campus academic support, university-wide events, student clubs and other social activities all help you network and develop a sense of belonging and ensure your academic success as a Colorado Mesa University student. With 140 different clubs, 24 NCAA Division II varsity sports, 37 sports clubs and 14 intramural leagues, students have no trouble filling their free-time. Besides organized clubs and sports, student-led groups host over 300 on-campus events every semester. For example, the Programming Activities Council hosts movie nights at the local cinema, free on-campus concerts with celebrity performers, and Pub Night Thursdays. The International Student Alliance (ISA) also serves as an active community for our international students. ISA has hosts several events each semester from potlucks to dance nights.
CMU students find that education and recreation intertwine. Our unique location, between the towering Rockies and the high-desert canyons, make the Grand Valley a recreational paradise. CMU’s popular Outdoor Program provides everything you need to explore the Colorado outdoors. The OP offers outdoor recreational equipment for rent and hosts outdoor activities (including transportation, gear, etc.) on a weekly basis such as backpacking/camping trips, rafting, kayaking, skydiving, skiing, hiking and more.
